Welcome to Ceylon Travel Guru (ceylontravelguru.com). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, inquiry forms, and the booking and execution of tour operator, safari, and transportation services provided by Ceylon Travel Guru in Sri Lanka.
By accessing our website, communicating with our team, or submitting a deposit/payment for a tour, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.
1. Use of the Website & Booking Eligibility
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking, sign travel agreements, or submit payment on our website. Minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian during all tours and safaris.
- Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, truthful, and complete details during the booking process, including guest counts, arrival dates, pick-up locations, contact details, and passport information when required for official park permits.
- Authorized Use: You may not use our website or services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
2. Itineraries, Pricing & Service Descriptions
- Accuracy of Information: We strive to provide accurate information regarding tour itineraries, wildlife sighting probabilities, inclusions, and pricing. However, wildlife sightings (such as leopards or sloth bears in Yala National Park) are natural events and cannot be guaranteed.
- Price Adjustments: Prices quoted are based on current government taxes, national park entry tariffs, and fuel rates in Sri Lanka. We reserve the right to adjust tour prices prior to payment confirmation in the event of major government fee increases or fuel tariff shifts. Once a deposit is paid, your agreed tour price is locked.
- Itinerary Modifications: We reserve the right to modify daily tour schedules due to unforeseen weather conditions, road closures, park safety notices, or animal welfare considerations to ensure guest safety and comfort.
3. Bookings, Deposits & Payment Processing
- Booking Offer & Acceptance: Submitting an inquiry or booking request does not guarantee a reservation. A booking is formally confirmed only when we issue a confirmation invoice and receive the agreed deposit or full payment.
- Payment Security: Online payments are processed through trusted third-party payment gateways. Ceylon Travel Guru does not store, process, or have direct access to your credit card numbers or banking passwords.
- Payment Authorization: By paying via credit card, bank transfer, or online gateway, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge the total agreed booking amount.
4. Cancellations, Refunds & Special Deviations
All tour cancellations, guest-initiated changes, operator-initiated cancellations, and refund eligibility are strictly governed by our standalone Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Note on Custom Deviations: Any special booking conditions or deviations from our general refund terms (e.g., peak holiday bookings or private multi-vehicle safaris) will be explicitly detailed in your written quote prior to payment, and will take precedence over standard policy terms.
5. Guest Responsibilities & Conduct During Tours
- Safety & Rules: Guests must adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, park rules, and instructions given by our safari drivers, naturalists, and tour guides—especially inside wildlife reserves like Yala National Park.
- Wildlife Ethics: Disembarking from vehicles outside designated zones, littering, feeding wildlife, or provoking animals is strictly prohibited. Ceylon Travel Guru reserves the right to terminate a tour without refund if a guest’s behavior jeopardizes safety or violates Sri Lankan wildlife laws.
- Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that all international guests hold comprehensive travel insurance covering emergency medical expenses, personal injury, trip cancellation, luggage loss, and travel delays.
6. Limitation of Liability
- Direct Financial Limit: Ceylon Travel Guru’s maximum liability arising from any booking or service shall be strictly limited to the total amount paid directly to us by the guest for that specific tour.
- Secondary Costs: In no event shall Ceylon Travel Guru, its owners, drivers, or guides be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages—including missed international flights, external hotel cancellations, loss of enjoyment, or travel insurance claim variances.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for failure to perform or delay in performing services due to acts of God, extreme weather events, natural disasters, national park closures, sudden government travel restrictions, or political unrest beyond our control.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on ceylontravelguru.com—including written text, photographs, tour descriptions, logos, graphics, and layout—is the intellectual property of Ceylon Travel Guru or its content suppliers. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or republish any content without our prior written permission.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any legal disputes arising out of or in connection with our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
9. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
