The Crested Serpent Eagle is one of the most easily recognized raptors in Sri Lanka. Its diet is specialized towards reptiles, especially snakes (hence the name “Serpent Eagle”). In Sri Lanka, it is a common sight across forests, scrublands, and even village outskirts, making it one of the most familiar raptors to birdwatchers.
